Treasurer's Office 518-462-6424 Job Description: Treasurer's Clerk

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Overview:
Performs daily office tasks such as filing. Recording, collections, maintaining records copying, posting and other similar duties using a computer terminal Typewriter and other word processors.


People skills and work as part of a team.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sorts and distributes mail ( Water, Solid Waste, Taxes and General)
  • Collections of all Bills ( Water, Solid Waste, Taxes and General)
  • Answers phones 
  • Files, Maintaining records, Makes photocopies
  • Operates basic office equipment
  • Responds to routine inquires via telephone. fax or email
  • Conducts data entry into required computer application and systems
  • Runs reports and distributes as necessary
  • Validates information and provides feedback to management
  • Additional Position Responsibilities Optional
  • Perform typing and other clerical duties as requested

 

Job Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A High School diploma or GED/equivalent is required
  • 2+ years of experience in related experience

Skill Sets Other Skills:

  • Demonstrated interpersonal/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team, work independently
  • Ability to work with customers (the public) paying bills and remain professional and calm under pressure 
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities 
  •  Ability to organize tasks and work environment 
  •  Additional Skill , Experience using Municipal Accounting Software Systems such as KVS
